Arlington County launches Virginia's first local PACE Program

Arlington County and its Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program administrator (Sustainable Real Estate Solutions, or SRS) are pleased to announce the launch of the Commonwealth’s first local PACE program. The program website - https://arlington-pace.us/ - is live and the program is ready to accept project applications. C-PACE is a public-private partnership to provide affordable, long-term private sector financing for projects to improve the energy or water efficiency of new or existing commercial buildings in the county. Properties eligible to participate in C-PACE include commercial, industrial, nonprofit and multifamily buildings with five or more units. Typically, projects financed through C-PACE result in energy cost savings that exceed the cost of repayment under C-PACE, creating positive cash flow for owners.

The Arlington C-PACE program is designed to enable other Virginia local governments to quickly and efficiently set up their own local C-PACE programs at low cost to the jurisdiction. Other VA jurisdictions may have the option to “ride” or "piggyback" Arlington’s C-PACE Program Administration (PA) contract with SRS to fulfil the competitive solicitation requirements without going through their own Request for Proposals (RFP) process.

Inquiries regarding the solicitation documents should be made to Igor Scherbakov at the Arlington County Office of the Purchasing Agent by e-mail at ischerbakov (at) arlingtonva.us.
