Delaware passes C-PACE Legislation
In August, Delaware Governor John Carney signed into law C-PACE enabling legislation. Governor Carney praised the bill's potential impact on the state: "By offering another method of financing for energy efficient projects, PACE will help Delaware further our goals to improve economic development, lower energy costs and reduce greenhouse emissions."
The bill was drafted with input from local stakeholders and national experts, with broad support across the state's business community. The program will be administered by Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (DESEU), with the goal to be active in the first quarter of 2019.
Delaware joins 34 other states with PACE legislation. PACENation estimates that PACE projects nationwide have created over 10,000 jobs and have reduced CO2 emissions by more than 3 million metric tons.
