Alexandria moves forward with funding to support C-PACE program development
During a May 1 2019 budget meeting, Alexandria City Council approved the FY2020 budget, which includes approval of start-up costs for a C-PACE program. This first step will lay the groundwork toward getting a program officially launched in the city.
The C-PACE program will promote local economic development through use of high performing energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy, resiliency measures in commercial buildings, advancing the goals adopted as part of the City's Environmental Action Plan. Next, the City will look to enact a C-PACE ordinance and determine its approach to program administration. This is the latest development of the Northern Virginia C-PACE market, as Arlington, Loudon, Fairfax, Frederick counties have all pursued efforts to capture benefits of C-PACE in their communities.
