Petersburg, VA unanimously passes a C-PACE ordinance

C-PACE is gaining momentum in Virginia:

Last week, Petersburg City Council voted unanimously in favor of establishing a C-PACE program. This process was initiated by a local building owner who sought to use C-PACE financing to renovate a hotel. With C-PACE included in city code, commercial property owners will be able to use this financing tool for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

As Jessa Coleman of PACE Financial Services explained to the Progress Index news, “C-PACE financing is a great course for economic development and upgrading local buildings... Private capital can provide a public benefit through the upgrade and efficiency of properties and it’s a proven financial mechanism that requires no taxpayer dollars to execute.”
